Theresa May is set to hold a series of private meetings with backbench MPs as she bids to win support for her Brexit deal before Tuesday’s historic vote.

French President Emmanuel Macron is set to meet trade unions and employers’ organisations this morning, in a bid to defuse weeks of unrest in Paris and other cities.
Le Figaro newspaper reports that Prime Minister Édouard Philippe and nine government ministers will also be present at Mr Macron’s meeting.
Monday’s meeting comes ahead of a nationwide TV address at 9pm in which he is expected to announce measures in response.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras takes part in the Intergovernmental Conference to adopt a Global Compact for Migration taking place in Marrakech, Morocco today, under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly.

The prime minister will speak during the debate before the plenum of the conference presenting Greece’s positions on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

The National Federation of Unions of Greek Doctors and the Hellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees will hold a work stoppage between 11 am and 3pm. The two Federations are calling their members to rally in front of the Ministry of Health to protest locum doctors redundancies and demand, among others, a pay rise and permanent positions for personnel currently working under flexible forms of employment.

10 members of the Rouvikonas self-anarchist group invaded into the Alimos City hall this morning. In a document posted on athens.indymedia site they said the invasion was a reaction to the death of a garbage truck driver on November 16th. Two persons have been detained.

German rail travelers face heavy delays in the run-up to Christmas. Workers have gone on a four-hour strike across the country, with all long-distance trains canceled. It comes after salary talks broke down last week.
