Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis inaugurates today the government’s Transition Plan to Electrical Movement. A special ceremony is taking place at the Technopolis complex, where a “Green Agreement for the promotion of electrical movement” will be signed by all relevant ministries and authorities.

On this year’s World Environment Day, celebrated today, the UN is drawing links between the health of the planet and human health and highlights the importance of protecting biodiversity, the system that supports life.
UN chief António Guterres said in his message that “nature is sending us a clear message. We are harming the natural world, to our own detriment.”

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday gave the opening speech at the unveiling of a new national campaign dubbed “Restart Tourism.”
“We hope to be able to welcome visitors safely, first and foremost, and that this, the summer of 2020, will be a memorable one,” said Mitsotakis.
“Greece is more than just sea and sun,” said Mitsotakis. “What we want to communicate is that Greek summer…is a state of mind.”

The foreign ministers of Greece, Cyprus, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain, a group dubbed the Med7, issued a joint declaration on Thursday calling on “all countries of the region to respect international law, including the law of the sea, and in particular the sovereignty and sovereign rights of EU member-states.”

The US State Department called the Turkish-Libyan memorandum of understanding regarding the delimitation of sea borders in the Mediterranean Sea “provocative and counterproductive”.

Washington’s support is a significant development and comes at a time when Turkey is directly threatening Greece from Evros to Crete.

Greece registered 15 new confirmed novel coronavirus cases and one new death since Tuesday, two days ago, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Thursday.

Children’s playgrounds in the municipality of Athens reopen today, after closing on March 14 as a preventive measure against the coronavirus outbreak.
