Heavy traffic is reported this morning in the main streets of Athens.
Problems are intense in the streets closed for the pivotal plan of Athens Great Walk, as cars circulating in the streets around Syntagma square have only two lanes in their disposal.

Traffic problems are reported on Vasilisis Sofias Avenue this moring, due to a rally of employees working in the sanitation sector. They have gathered at Mavili square and will soon march to Syntagma square.

Investments, energy and the broadening of Greek-Israeli relations will be at the center of a meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu today.
Mitsotakis’ trip to Israel is his first trip overseas after the coronavirus outbreak. He is accompanied by six ministers, including defence and tourism.

Some 28 international flights arrived at Athens International Airport on Monday, the first day of both Athens and Thessaloniki airports reopening, ahead of all of Greece’s airports opening on July 1.
The first international flight of the day came from Larnaca in the morning, followed by flights from Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Doha, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Sofia, Vienna and Zurich.
The coronavirus pandemic would have wreaked havoc in Greece if the government had not introduced measures to help investments, reduce taxes and fight bureaucracy, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told the annual meeting of the Hellenic Federation of Industries (SEV), which was held via teleconference on Monday.

There have now been more than 8m confirmed virus cases worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The Chinese capital of Beijing has banned high-risk people – such as close contacts of confirmed cases – from leaving the city.
It comes as a new cluster of cases has emerged – all linked to the city’s largest wholesale market.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has withdrawn the use of anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for coronavirus.
In March, the FDA granted the emergency use of the drug for some serious Covid-19 cases.
